LASIK Laser Vision Correction is ideal for a range of common vision problems, including nearsightedness(myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism.
Vision must be stable for at least one year to minimize the chance of returning for an enhancement procedure. Patients over the age of 18 with good general health and no eye diseases are the best candidates.
How does it work?
Often described as literally shaping a “personalized contact lens” for each eye, the goal of Lasik is to eliminate or reduce reliance on glasses or contacts. A simple, painless and extremely effective outpatient procedure, Laser Vision Correction uses a precise,
computer-controlled method to gently reshape the cornea, usually taking about ten minutes per eye. During the treatment, a computerized laser evaporates layers of tissue from the cornea, matching your vision prescription so the eye can focus properly.
